The system is designed to protect against modern high-tech vehicle theft methods, such as Relay Hacks, Key Cloning, CAN Injection, & Roll Jam.

The idea being that regardless of what happens with the vehicles original remote control system, the Cobra 4822 ADR will only disarm if it 'sees' the encrypted Bluetooth driver ID tag. If the vehicle is unlocked without a driver ID tag being present, the engine immobiliser will stay active, preventing the car from being driven away, & the system will sound the alarm after approx 30 seconds.
