Why do I need a Thatcham Approved S5 Tracker?
Insurance companies asses the potential risk of vehicle theft based on past statistics.
For instance, certain BMW, Mercedes & Range Rover models had extremely high theft rates in 2023/2024. As a result, most models now require an Insurance Approved Tracking device for comprehensive insurance coverage. Depending on the insurance companys requirements, either an S5 or S5+ Insurance Approved Tracker may be required.

An S5 Insurance Approved Tracker includes a Bluetooth driver ID tag to prove you are the authorised Driver. Once the driver ID tag has been detected by the tracking system, the tracker allows you to continue your journey without alerting the UK based call centre.
Mobile App & Web Login
Once installed, you can login to our Mobile App (or on a web browser if you prefer), where you can view your vehicles current location, previous routing history & basic health of the tracking system & your vehicle, giving you the peace of mind that everything is exactly as it should be!
How does the S5 alert process work?
If your vehicle is driven or moved without the Driver Tag being present then the system will automatically raise an alert & the call centre will contact you to inform you of a potential incident
with your vehicle. If this is a false alert (eg you have forgotten your tag) then you can inform our UK monitoring team of this via this call.
If you have forgotten your driver ID tag, dont worry, you can contact our 24/7 support line on 0203 835 3234. Select option 1 for stolen and immobilised vehicles, provide us with some information such as your account name and our support team will get you up and running.
If your vehicle has in fact been stolen, our team will start the recovery process directly with the Police force in your area (once they have received the Police incident / crime reference number from you)
S5+ Insurance Approved Tracker with Active Engine Immobilisation
This is the next level up from the S5 Insurance Approved Tracker. It has all the features and monitoring of an S5 system, but has the addition that if the Driver ID Tag has not been seen by the Tracker then the vehicle will simply not start.
